Parlays are a type of teaser.
Teasers provide points to move the game line or total, at adjusted odds. Typically fixed odds are provided depending on the teased points and the number of games. The industry standard rate is usually:
-110 for a 2-team 6-point teaser
+160 for a 3-team
+260 for a 4-team
-130 for a 2-team 7-point teaser
+120 for a 3-team
+200 for a 4-team
The number of teams you can put into a teaser is usually limited. There are also rules that cancel teasers if any of the games is a push, or treat a push as a loss. The odds are typically not “fair”, meaning that there is not a mathematical basis for the odds on a 2-team teaser vs. the odds on a 4 team teaser.
Instead of using a table of fixed odds for points and games, it makes more sense to calculate the base odds of teasing a single game by a certain point amount. Then the odds can simply be accumulated as more games are added to the bet.
For example, instead of saying a 2-team 6-point teaser is -110, this is equivalent to odds of 1.909. The square root of 1.909 = 1.38. Therefore the “fair” price for a 1-team 6-point tease is 1.38. Using this method, you can tease any number of games and get consistently accumulating odds (just like with a non-tease parlay). This also allows for pushes to be neutralized, instead of resulting in an unfair loss or bet cancellation.
Using this approach, the fair price for each teaser point option can be calculated from the odds offered by any sportsbook. Sometimes the 2-team option is more or less fair than the 3 or 4 team option. The fair price can be calculated from the 3-team or 4-team price by taking the 1/3 or 1/4 root.
